Visibility can be measured by visual observation, relying on manual inspection to estimate the visibility distance based on whether a certain reference object is visible. This method is simple and intuitive, but it is highly subjective and has poor standardization and objectivity.
We recommend using the Visibility sensor FT-N50.
It measures the total extinction coefficient of the air based on the 35° forward scattering method and accurately calculates the current visibility. In terms of hardware, the shell is made of high-quality aluminum material, which is anodized and painted, providing good waterproof, dustproof, and anti-collision performance. The transmitting and receiving lenses are designed to face downward, effectively reducing the interference of stray light such as sunlight. Both the communication and power interfaces are equipped with lightning protection designs, which can reduce damage caused by lightning strikes and static electricity. Moreover, this sensor supports a wide voltage supply range of 12 - 24V, with a total power consumption of only about 1W, which is extremely low. It can be powered by solar panels and batteries for long-term use.
