The coal mine lightning early warning system employs MEMS charge sensing technology and electric field differential optimization algorithms to monitor changes in the atmospheric electric field in real time and issue automatic warnings. This transforms traditional passive lightning protection into active early warning, significantly improving the lightning safety level of coal mines.
The coal mine lightning early warning system is a fully digital electric field detection and lightning early warning platform. Its core electric field detection structure is based on the principle of charge sensing and is developed using MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology. It has no easily worn moving mechanical parts such as motors, and boasts outstanding advantages such as small size, low power consumption, high reliability, and ease of integration. The system monitors changes in atmospheric charge in real time. When thunderclouds form and accumulate charge, it captures lightning precursor signals through high-precision sensors and analyzes the threat level using intelligent algorithms. Unlike traditional methods that rely solely on external lightning protection devices such as lightning rods and lightning arresters, this system achieves a fundamental shift from passive lightning protection to active early warning.
The system's early warning algorithm employs an optimization method combining electric field differentiation and threshold values. Compared to conventional threshold methods, this approach avoids false alarms caused by human interference factors such as rain, strong winds, snow, and dust, further improving the accuracy of early warnings. The electric field measurement range is -100kV/m to 100kV/m, with a resolution of 0.1V/m, an accuracy of ±0.001%F.S, and a detection radius covering 15 kilometers. The sensor weighs only 710g, the entire system weighs 36kg, it uses DC 12V power, and power consumption is controlled below 2W. The system operates within a temperature range of -40℃ to 80℃, adapting to the complex environmental conditions of mining areas.
In practical applications, the coal mine lightning early warning system deploys monitoring equipment at key locations such as surface wellheads, ventilation rooms, and substations to collect real-time lightning activity data, including lightning location, current intensity, and occurrence time. The system supports multi-level early warning information dissemination, including SMS, audible and visual alarms, and cloud platform push notifications. When a lightning risk is detected, the early warning device promptly issues an alarm, reminding coal mine workers to take safety measures. The system can detect lightning risks in advance, providing the mining area with sufficient time to take protective measures and effectively reducing the risk of accidents such as equipment damage and gas explosions caused by lightning strikes. In addition, the system can conduct in-depth research on the patterns of lightning activity through continuously accumulating monitoring data, further optimizing the early warning algorithm and providing continuous assurance for safe coal mine production.
