Visibility is a crucial factor in our daily lives and the operations of numerous industries. Weather conditions such as heavy fog and sandstorms can significantly reduce visibility, causing serious impacts on transportation and travel, and are highly likely to trigger traffic accidents. In the aviation field, during the takeoff and landing stages, visibility is directly related to flight safety. In meteorological research, accurately obtaining visibility data helps in a deeper understanding of the atmospheric conditions. Precisely because of this, accurate visibility monitoring is of great importance.
Traditional visibility monitoring mostly relies on fixed ground stations. However, the distribution of these stations is limited, making it difficult to comprehensively cover vast areas. In regions such as remote mountainous areas and the ocean, there are even gaps in monitoring. The emergence of the Uav visibility meter can make up for this deficiency. Drones can flexibly move through different airspaces, breaking through geographical limitations and reaching places that are difficult to access for traditional monitoring, thus achieving broader and more comprehensive visibility monitoring. It can obtain data at different altitudes in the air, enabling us to have a clearer understanding of the changes in visibility in the vertical direction of the atmosphere.
The FT-WJN6 is an excellent Uav visibility meter. It is specifically designed for the flight status of unmanned aircraft or small unmanned inspection aircraft in the air. It weighs only 680 grams (made of ABS material) or 880 grams (made of aluminum alloy material), and its body dimensions are 174mm×85mm×35mm. Its flat and compact shape has extremely low air resistance and is suitable for being hoisted on the bottom of the aircraft fuselage. This detector uses the principle of forward scattering to detect the atmospheric visibility value. The detection range reaches from 10 to 6000 meters, and can reach up to 10000 meters at most. The measurement accuracy is ±10%. It uses an IR LED as the light source, and the data is updated once per second to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the data.
The FT-WJN6 can operate normally in an environment with an altitude of 4000 meters and a temperature range from -20°C to 50°C, and is not affected by a humidity environment of 0-95%. Users can choose the ABS or aluminum alloy shell material according to their needs, and can also optionally install temperature and humidity sensors and barometric pressure sensors. In terms of power consumption, it is only 0.9 watts and is powered by DC 12V, which is very suitable for small unmanned aerial vehicle platforms and convenient for being carried for the inspection of meteorological elements in the low-altitude environment.
It supports digital output methods such as RS485/232 and TTL, and can achieve real-time data transmission, making it convenient for the staff to promptly grasp the situation and make decisions.
