The marathon is an extremely demanding test of the physical fitness and endurance of the participants, and meteorological conditions play a crucial role in it. Unsuitable meteorological conditions can have many negative impacts on long-distance running. In a high-temperature environment, the human body's metabolism speeds up, and the energy consumption surges dramatically. Moreover, the heat often leads to insufficient sleep and loss of appetite, resulting in a decline in immunity and resistance. When the atmospheric humidity is high, it is difficult for the human body to sweat, and body heat accumulates, making heatstroke highly likely. Weather changes can also affect the human body's autonomic nervous system, alter the vascular motor response and the physical and chemical properties of the blood, increase the burden on the heart during the race, and in severe cases, may even trigger diseases and lead to sudden death.
Given the significant impact of meteorological conditions on marathon events, event organizers nowadays attach great importance to refined meteorological services. Meteorological bureaus in many places start preparations weeks or even months in advance. For example, a special service mechanism is launched about 25 days before the race. The meteorological bureau provides the event organizing committee with detailed weather forecasts every day, including key information such as temperature, humidity, wind direction, and wind speed, and produces and releases several issues of special meteorological service information. On the day of the race, monitoring devices are installed at key positions on the track to achieve real-time tracking of the meteorological data on the track, and a refined forecast is provided every half an hour. At the same time, weather information is widely released to the participants and the public through multiple channels such as WeChat official accounts and video accounts.
Among the many tools used for meteorological monitoring in events, the Portable Weather Station can accurately monitor various meteorological elements such as temperature, humidity, wind direction, wind speed, and air pressure. In a marathon event, the staff can conveniently deploy it at various locations on the track. For instance, in some events, meteorological support personnel will bring portable automatic weather stations to the scene in advance, collect real-time meteorological data of the competition venue and its surroundings, and display the data on an electronic display screen in a scrolling manner, allowing the participants to have an intuitive understanding of the current meteorological conditions and adjust their race pace reasonably. These data will also be transmitted to the event organizing committee in a timely manner, providing key basis for their decision-making and command, and facilitating the smooth and safe progress of the event to ensure the health and safety of every participant.

In areas with clean air, the visibility can reach as high as 70-100 kilometers, but air pollution and humidity often reduce it. In areas with haze, fog, smoke, or in the places where sandstorms or forest fires occur, low visibility is extremely dangerous for transportation. Many serious accidents on...
In the pest control work of parks, farmlands, orchards and other places, the Air Suction Insecticide Lamp, a green and environmentally friendly device that combines solar power supply and physical prevention and control technologies, is becoming increasingly prominent. Agrometeorological stations are small automatic weather stations deployed in farmlands, orchards, greenhouses and other areas. They automatically monitor climate and environmental factors closely related to agricultural production activities, helping farmers and researchers grasp field environmental...
In maritime navigation, poor visibility is an "invisible killer" threatening ship safety. When weather conditions such as dense fog, heavy rain, or sand and dust occur, the visibility distance shortens sharply. Ships not only struggle to observe nearby landmarks, with positioning accuracy...
