The FT-BN20 Portable Visibility Sensor launched by Fengtu Technology is a device specifically designed for fields that require rapid acquisition of atmospheric visibility data in field and complex environments. It integrates portability, high precision, and ruggedness into one compact unit.
In sectors such as meteorological observation, emergency management, and transportation safety (e.g., highways, airports), visibility is critical for traffic safety, making timely access to visibility data essential. However, traditional visibility monitoring equipment is mostly fixed and cannot meet the rapid deployment needs for on-site emergency meteorological disasters (such as fog patches and sandstorms) or temporary outdoor operations. The market urgently requires a monitoring tool that ensures both measurement accuracy and high mobility. The FT-BN20 was developed to address this challenge as a portable solution.
Core Design: Portability and Integration
The most prominent feature of the FT-BN20 is its integrated portable design.
The device highly integrates the sensor, display screen, data storage unit, and power supply system into a compact body.
The total weight of the unit is kept under 10 kilograms, making it very easy to transport and carry to different sites.

Technical Principle: Forward Scattering Method
The FT-BN20 utilizes the forward scattering method for measurement. This method calculates the atmospheric extinction coefficient by measuring the scattering effect of suspended particles in the air on light, thereby scientifically deriving the visibility value. This technology complies with the Chinese meteorological industry standard (QX/T 536-2020), ensuring data reliability and authority.
In addition to the core measurement function, the FT-BN20 Portable Visibility Sensor also includes a series of practical features that enhance the user experience.
The device is equipped with a 10.1-inch high-brightness touchscreen, which not only displays real-time visibility data but also shows historical trend curves, making data trends clear at a glance.
The built-in high-capacity lithium battery and SD card storage system support continuous operation for over 12 hours in environments without external power sources or networks, and can independently complete data recording and storage.
The high-quality aluminum casing provides excellent waterproof, dustproof, and impact resistance performance. The lightning protection design for interfaces and the built-in watchdog circuit also ensure stable operation in complex outdoor environments.
