In the modern transportation system, tunnels are important transportation infrastructure, playing a role in connecting different regions and promoting smooth traffic. However, the space inside tunnels is relatively enclosed, with heavy and complex traffic flow. Vehicle exhaust emissions, smoke particles, and other pollutants easily accumulate, leading to a decline in air quality and reduced visibility in tunnels, which pose serious threats to driving safety and human health.
To effectively address environmental issues in tunnels and ensure safe and smooth traffic, Fengtu has launched the FT-SDN1 Visibility Detector, a monitoring instrument specifically designed for tunnel environments. In addition to accurately measuring visibility inside tunnels, it also detects carbon monoxide (CO) concentration.
The FT-SDN1 Visibility Detector can effectively avoid measurement errors caused by the environment and vibrations from passing vehicles through scientific installation design and signal processing methods. This instrument features high-resolution visibility measurement capabilities, which can reflect the visibility status in tunnels in real-time and accurately, providing reliable data support for traffic management departments. When visibility is monitored to be below the safety threshold, the ventilation system in the tunnel can be activated in a timely manner to reduce smoke concentration, improve visibility, and ensure driving safety.
Carbon monoxide is an extremely harmful gas in tunnels. It is colorless and odorless but can cause serious harm to the human body. The FT-SDN1 Visibility Detector integrates a carbon monoxide detection function, which can accurately measure the concentration of carbon monoxide in tunnels. It has a built-in compensation function; even if the optical lens is contaminated, it can automatically perform gain compensation, ensuring a long maintenance cycle and reducing maintenance costs. In accordance with China's Code for Design of Highway Tunnel Ventilation and Lighting, the instrument can be installed on the top or side wall of the tunnel to collect carbon monoxide data in real-time online. Traffic supervision departments can grasp concentration changes based on this data, and when the concentration exceeds the standard, promptly take measures such as ventilation to control the carbon monoxide concentration within a safe range, preventing poisoning of drivers, passengers, and maintenance personnel.
The FT-SDN1 Visibility Detector also has multiple output modes, facilitating data collection. The instrument is equipped with status display, fault alarm, and data storage functions, making it convenient for staff to debug and maintain. Specifically designed for harsh tunnel environments, it effectively avoids interference from complex environmental factors on measurements, and has low installation and startup costs.
