Traditional fixed visibility monitoring equipment is limited by factors such as installation location and power supply conditions, making it difficult to meet flexible and variable monitoring needs. The emergence of the Portable Visibility Detector has effectively solved this problem.
Low visibility is a core meteorological risk threatening aviation takeoffs and landings, maritime navigation, and road transportation. On expressways, adverse weather such as heavy fog reduces atmospheric visibility, often causing road congestion and closures, directly leading to transportation disruptions and losses to local economies and the expressways' own economic benefits. However, traditional visibility monitoring relies on large fixed station networks, which have limitations such as long deployment cycles, poor flexibility, and many coverage blind spots. They are unable to cope with transient low-visibility events like sudden fog patches and sandstorms, posing serious threats to road safety.
In addition, for some temporary activities such as outdoor events and temporary traffic control areas, there is a need for temporary visibility monitoring in specific regions, which traditional fixed equipment clearly cannot meet due to their lack of temporariness and flexibility.
Therefore, manufacturers have launched the Portable Visibility Detector.
Fengtu's Portable Visibility Detector (FT-BN10) adopts the forward scattering method to measure the total air extinction coefficient and accurately calculate the current visibility. In terms of design features, the monitoring station features an integrated and portable design, with light weight for easy carrying. It can be easily taken to any place requiring monitoring, truly enabling rapid deployment and immediate use after startup.
It is equipped with a 10.1-inch high-brightness touch screen, which can display real-time data and historical curves, allowing staff to intuitively understand the monitoring situation. The device has a built-in large-capacity SD card (8G) that can save data in real time and supports querying and exporting, facilitating in-depth analysis of data later. To meet the needs of long-term outdoor use, it has a built-in large-capacity lithium battery, eliminating concerns about power supply during outdoor emergencies. The instrument shell is made of high-quality aluminum material, giving the whole machine good waterproof, dustproof, and anti-collision performance, which can adapt to various harsh natural environments. At the same time, a built-in watchdog circuit ensures reliable and stable operation during long-term outdoor use; the instrument's communication and power interfaces are all equipped with lightning protection designs, minimizing damage from lightning strikes and static electricity to ensure equipment safety. In terms of power supply and data transmission, it uses 24V power supply with low power consumption, enabling long-term power supply; the digital interface uses RS232 to actively upload data without the need for protocol adaptation, which is convenient and fast. It meets the needs of portable visibility monitoring in many scenarios and is very suitable for ensuring transportation safety, assisting emergency rescue, and serving temporary activities.

Wildfire dynamics are highly influenced by on-site meteorological conditions: wind speed and direction determine the fire’s spread path, while temperature affects both fire intensity and rescue safety. Real-time and accurate meteorological data serve as the "lifeline" for emergency respon...
Visibility can be measured by visual observation, relying on manual inspection to estimate the visibility distance based on whether a certain reference object is visible. This method is simple and intuitive, but it is highly subjective and has poor standardization and objectivity. We recommend using...
In traditional agriculture, farmers have long relied on the labor mode of "facing the loess and having their backs to the sky", understanding various situations in the fields through a hands-on approach. This way not only consumes a lot of physical strength and time but also has many limit...
In the audit of highway construction projects, the construction quality and operational status of highway projects have always been the top priorities of inspection. Traditional audit inspection methods, such as drilling and coring inspection, have many drawbacks that cannot be ignored. The inspecti...
